Inspired by the handwoven Madras checks of southern India. Our timeless House Check incorporates a woven house motif, symbolising not just a physical home, but a protective shelter in which to house the family’s future, along with a stylized human figure used as protective talismans to ward off misfortune.

In Tamil culture, the grid is a foundational element representing cosmic order, symmetry, and prosperity. The act of weaving itself was often a metaphor for the creation of the universe and the human life cycle. The vertical warp threads represent the fixed laws of the cosmos, while the horizontal weft threads represent human experience, time, and the individual, showing a microcosm of the universe.
