Monshō Scarf in Pompeii

£45.00

Monshō are traditional Japanese emblems used to decorate, identify, and signify an individual, family or institution. These highly stylized geometric designs originated as markers of status and lineage.

Our own interpretation includes representations of the classical four elements -earth, water, air & fire- long believed to make up all matter in the world, along with the wheel of joy representing positive energy, enclosed with a cherry blossom border, acknowledging the fleeting, transient nature of life.
